Indiana Midwives Association

    WELCOME

    The Indiana Midwives Association is a state professional organization dedicated to promote high standards of midwifery care and safe childbirth alternatives.  Founded in 1982, the membership includes midwives, doulas, childbirth professionals and consumers who foster unity among midwives with respect to differences in education and professional practices.

 

    CHOOSING

It is highly recommended that families meet with and carefully check the background and qualifications of potential birth attendants.  When possible, it is an excellent idea to interview a number of providers before selecting.  Midwives differ in their training, philosophies, services, and fees.  Not every midwife is right for every woman.

RALLY AT THE STATEHOUSE
January 12th, 2012
8am -12pm

Come when you can and look for people with PUSH stickers

Rally is ON! In the North Atrium next to the Rotunda. Main Floor of the Statehouse.
Our bill number is HB 1127 We will be lobbying individual legislators and hopefully passing out cookies. Please come in business attire and if you want signs, plan to hold them or wear them- sticks are prohibited. We will have cards to fill out with messages for your representative and senator. There is 2 hour pay parking on the street- bring quarters. Parking may be limited so car pools are a good idea. We know this is short notice. If we get a
hearing; there will be other opportunities to attend midwifery history in the making
